PEOPLE ARE SAYING

Comments: Can someone explain to me how she delayed for 40 minutes but the concert still ended on time! She didnt perform the full concert thats how. I am 14 years old and grew up listening to britney. I work hard for my money delivering papers and i wasted my pay for 2 months to see this concert!

Comments: Sigh ... I love you Britney, I really do.

But I can't believe what you did to us with this concert, honestly unless YOU apologize and not your rep then I will never attend another one of your concerts

Comments: I have a severe smoke allergy and did not notice any "smoke". Sitting up higher where smoke rises to I should have had to use my inhaler but did not.

Comments: The show was extremely disappointing.  We thought there was an issue with the stage, as it looked as though a platform wouldn't lower entirely.  It was upsetting that they tried to blame the audience for the stall in the performance.  I have a hard time believing that a stadium full of young girls could smoke out the performers.  Britney's lack of enthusiasim and energy was surprising and unprofessional.

Comments: My concern is that if "smoke" was really the issue, why was an announcement not made right away instead of 20 minutes AFTER waiting? Followed by another 20 minutes, meaning we waited 40 minutes total. It was also somewhat scary to be sitting in GM Place in the dark for 40 minutes. I felt like my safety was at risk.

Comments: I bought these tickets for my niece for Christmas and because she didn't have a sweet 16 party I bought an extra 2  tickets for her friends to celebrate her birthday.  My niece idolizes and still stands beside her despite her antics in Vancouver. I on the other hand feel different. Lip syncing the entire show, walking off the stage, and I would swear on a stack of bibles that the "Britney" in a black bob was a body double.  After her smoke meltdown I lost all respect for her comeback. It was Britney who caused the smoke problem in the building.

Comments: Smoking was her first excuse, THEN they changed the story and blamed vancouver reps for the smoking machine.  Its HER responsibilty to have a dress reshearsal to ensure all equipmentect is ready to go before performing. How dare she put the blame on Vancouver!

Comments: We were sitting in platnium seats very close to the stage, and we could not even smell the smoke.

Comments: Bought tickets for my 8 year old Birthday. 1st concert ever. Concert sucked and her comments extremely bad for kids. There was no smoke we were up at 300 level and no smoke. I heard she has a melt down and would not come back on stage. If your going to make the money she does then put out or don't, but don't rip people (off). I would have not bought tickets if I knew the concert was going to be that bad. My daughter  was quite sad about the whole thing and wanted to leave. Boring she said, although she liked the Pussy Cat dolls.Britney needs to quit the business and not sell tickets under false pretence.

Comments: I am very upset Britney. This is my very first concert. Please redeem yourself by helping out your fans.

Comments: We were very upset, we are down visiting from Ontario and we were so excited to get the tickets. Then when she left the stage we waited and some people and the security said she had left the building. So we left very upset and headed out , then we got outside and someone yelled she was back on so we ran back and missed a whole song. This Guy in our section got out of hand yelling and swearing that this was a rip off and he was screaming the whole time so many people left with there kids.We want are money back Please

Comments: I have never been to a concert, and I had been in love with Britney for years. I even have the same tattoo fairy! I had held off on going to any other concert in the last two years because I wanted Britney to be my first concert. I was really upset and hurt by her performance. The money I paid was incredible, only to be let down.

Comments: You said it. It was extremely dis-heartening. It's not like it was a Metallica concert with 2 inch thick smoke, and getting high from all the second hand marijuana. I am a big girl, i can handle an inconvenience like that, as disappointing as it was, but when i saw little girls crying during the smokey break, and children with special needs crying, thinking that their hero/idol was not comming back onstage because of a diva fit, that was the last straw. Not cool Britney, not cool.

Comments: Very disapointed. Daughter Xmas gift. Single mom saved for special night, bad investment. We love music, concerts and dance. I have 3 girls. The stoppage of the show killed the mood of the night.

Comments: We were in row 6 near stage, no smoke seen nor smelt, my daughter and girls in front of us were crying in disappointment at end of show, so let down.

Comments: We did enjoy the show until she left. The time with no information as to what was happening was where I got angry. My daughter is mentally challanged and try to explain something like this.  They should have let us know something sooner.  The enjoyment of the concert left with Miss Spears as she left the stage.  It did not return when she did.  I will never attend an other show with her as the act.

Comments: ANGRY AS HELL, we were huge fans and waiting for so long for the concert! now I am not so much a britney fan, and think we deserve some refund if not all. She smokes for GOD SAKES!! it was a half as# performance, after her walk off stage is seemed like she didn't care about her fans or not even an apology from her at the end of the show or an explanantion. I will never attend another one of her shows, which is sad because I used to be such a huge fan and now I just have no respect for her and have a bad taste in my mouth. She's getting paid millions from (th)is and she pulls that crap..ever heard the show must go on??? SUCK IT UP, or SHUT UP.

Comments: we left half way thru... honestly thought it was done..  we are very upset that we even paid to watch her lyp synch in the first place!  if we wanted to simply listen to her cd we could have done that from home!

Comments: The smoke was from her machines, and not from the audience, plus she was lip synicing. When I pay that much for a show. I expect to hear live sings.

Comments: It is becoming prohibitively expensive to enjoy quality entertainment without having an inconvenience of a star being allowed/indulged a hissy fit. Being paid over $250 million dollars to perform throughout North America is crazy in the first place let alone making adoring fans wait and wonder what's up.

Comments: Worst concert experience of my life!

Comments: there was no real show... she lipsynced it, never really danced, just power walked around the stage...and for the money we paid...it should've been a REALLY good stage set up...there were no big screens for the ppl in the back or up above...i think because she ws so badly out of shape..they couldn't do close up's of her !!!  i'm truly disgusted and honestly our of over a hundred concerts I've been to....THE WORST ONE EVER !!! me and my gf's were fan's til this point !!!

Comments: I pretty much am boycotting britney spears since this concert, it was a disaster!!!

Comments: I think think concert was a joke.  I belive there was a different reason why Britney make us wait for 40min and I think the smoke was the best excuse they could come up at the time.  Its BS, so many parent brought their kids to see her...the worst performance ever! Pussy cat dolls did a great job but not Britney!!!

Comments: She took to the stage as if she was punching a clock and she looked completely out of it.

Comments: she really shouldn't have pulled the diva card! I love (her) and all, but I'm upset that she did that. not to mention she didnt even give it her all after returning to the stage. Plus her choice of words when leaving where offensive.!!

Comments: Have been one of Britneys biggest fans since she came out, finally get to see her and the show sucked...!

Comments: i was shocked that she had the audacity to come back on stage after disappearing for 30 mins and not ADDRESS her fans. No apology made and no acknowledgement about what had just happened. She acted like nothing had happened. Prior to that i think we were all very FORGIVING for the poor performance: sad lipsyncing and even worse dancing. When she came back, we collectively felt like it was no longer acceptable to be mediocre. And Britney - that's what you were! Mediocre at best. so much for a comeback.

Comments: The show was not worth the amount we paid. Standing for 20 minutes in the dark with no announcements then not even performing at her best, it just sucked.  Britney's not back, she's still a huge mess.

Comments: I also don't agree that britney had to leave b/c of "smoke" issues; most of the smoke came from her stage It was also apparent that she wasn't very into her concert from her opening act -- she seemed to be low in energy

Comments: Not only was this trip expensive, it was quite a pain as my sister who attended with me has 2 children and had many arrangements to make.  It was a complete waste of money and we feel we deserve a refund for all expenses incurred.  Britney is lucky to still have fans after all her drama, but that was the final straw for us.

Comments: The show was disappointing.  She had no energy and no intention on making it enjoyable for her audience.  A concert should at least have one live song.  I couldnt believe that the entire show was lip synced, right down to the part where she was ordering her men to do push-ups and what not.  We've waited to see her here for so long only to be disappointed by her lack of dedication to her fans.

Comments: I was a die hard fan, attending every concert she ever put on.  I am done, her days as a super star are also over.  She is a has bin.

Comments: Me& my sister travelled from Campbell River to Vancouver and when the lights went out and the announcement was made I almost got sick. We spent so much money and were so excited....when Britney came back on stage the whole enitre mood was ruined...I would have rather seen the Pussy Cat Dolls come back out at least they would have got the crownd going again.....and then to end the night Britney finally addressed the crowd by saying "Good night vancouver, don't drink and drive, don't smoke MARIJUANA, but Rock out with your co*&s out motherfu#@ers"....nice Britney real nice.  Britney Spears was horrible....I enjoyed the acts in between her more then what she did.

Comments: The pussycat dolls kicked britneys as%! Britney wasnt dancing and she slacked off big time! Im always the one sticking up for britney but she really disappointed me ... I dont know if ill EVER go to one of her concerts again. Thank you for making this website.

Comments: very disappointing to have spent so much of money and be accused of been part of an audience that smoked. They freakin had a stage issue but diva wanted to create an issue. Brittany grow up!

Comments: The concert was a huge joke, the only entertaining thing about the show was the Pussycat Dolls. Britney Spears was a joke, the room was not smokey at all, and if there was any smoke it came from the smoke she used on her own smoke machines.

Comments: actually the worst concert i've ever seen probably because i'm the biggest britney fan EVER and have been waiting for a yr since the rumors started soo disappointed:(

Comments: I did not feel comfortable hearing that Britney Spears referred to all Vancouverites in the audience as people who "smoke weed" and I feel insulted by being referred to as one of the "motherf%$*rs". Also, it took too long for the announcement to be made. I think that Spears was disrespectful towards her fans who did not smoke weed and actually wanted to enjoy the show.

Comments: How can Britney claim she "picked up where she left off" if her concert ended on time, even though we were sitting in the dark for 40 mins??

If she still did the whole show, shouldn't it have ended 40 mins late?!?!

I call BS on Britney Spears!

Comments: Were VERY disappointed in her lack of professionalism and lack of commitment to her "show" and her long-standing fans. Particularly in lieu of disappearing from the stage for a minimum of 20 minutes or more before informing her fans why she had abruptly left the stage and left everyone in darkness. Very unprofessional AND was lazy and obviously wanted to be elsewhere when she HAD to return to the stage.

Comments:  I spent nearly $1000. I feel mislead and ripped off!

Comments: When Britney walked off stage people around me began to get agitated and many started to begin to riot, i felt uncomfortable and quickly removed myself from the area.

Comments: We went to the Britney show and were very upset when she went off stage without telling anyone what was going on. We became frightened that the crowd was going to get out of control because everyone was upset. We left the concert after waiting for her for about 30 minutes. Getting our money back for the show will help her redeem herself. What really upset me is that my boyfriend and I were not smoking...so why should we have to be punished for something that someone else may or may not have done. It was very "totalitarian" of her to stop the concert and punish innocent people.

Comments: The show was horrible, Britney didn't have her heart in it. Her 40 min hiatus I am sure resulted in a reduced set of songs performed

Comments: the almost hour unplanned break was ridiculous and NO excuse for it--the show must go on (but, apparently Britney hasn't learnt that one yet). AND, when she started the show, she wasn't even doing anything ... it was like watching a 90 year old performing--being carried everywhere and people holding her up on each side to travel across the stage--WTF? She's fit--she should have done more on her own.  We've all seen it--we know she's capable, so watching her barely 'going thru the motions' doesn't cut it.  Then, to insult and say such rude things at the end!?!  Also, who is she to talk about smoking?? Really.  If anyone should be affended by the smoke it would be a non-smoker like me, but I didn't notice any problem.  It was all in her head.  Perahps she wasn't really ready to tour--then she shouldn't be taking in everyones money just to insult them and waste peoples time

Comments: I really did not believe that the smoke was coming from the audience. There was sure a lot of smoke coming from the smoke machines. I am really disappointed with this concert.

Comments: This was just awful for my friend and i that had gone to this concert we loved britney but now i feel like i've been scammed and i dont like that!

Comments:
I purchased 2 tickets @ 350 each = 700.. the biggest waste of my hard earned money EVER!!!

Comments: she could have talked during the show!!!!!!!!

Comments: I am a student, so I don't exactly have a lot of money in the first place. I decided it would be something worth investing in. I was wrong.

Comments: What a waste of money.  My daughters both have asthma and were not impacted at all by any smoke except for her own from the show! NEVER will we ever buy any Britany music or go to one of her lousy crap shows again!

Comments: I truely just think that it was unfair that I went and spent almost a $1000 for this night to see britney..and then she has to complain about the smoke , we were all there too!!! it didnt bother us enough to complain about it because we were wanting to see her. plus it wasnt even that bad , im not a smoker and it didnt bother me! Also now looking at her concert online from  other cities bc of this whole ordeal there are 2 outfits that I know of that we didnt get to see onstage which makes me believe that we missed a few songs also!! its awful and i dont think that I got what i paid for. i hope that this all works out and that we get our money back and that she realizes what she has made her fans think! thank you for making this website :)

Comments: I've been a fan for 11 years.. since i was 9, and i stood by her in her bad stage, and i saw her on her oops i did it again tour, and i loved it!

she completely ruined it for me, and thats really upsetting seeing as i have loved her since i was 9 and i am now 20.

Comments: The promoter(s) should have advised concert-goers immediately that the show would resume as soon as the issue(s) is resolved rather than waiting at least 25 minutes to announce what the issues were.  There could have been a riot and put everyone in danger.

Comments: I'm still mad at you, Brtiney!

Comments: In addition to the unprofessional unexplained delay for the first 20 minutes and the subsequent additional delay which not only extended our evening on a school night the entire show especially after the delay was one of a lack of effort and passion by Ms. Spears.  Terrible lip synching could at least have been countered by some effort in dancing on her part. My daughter who is a dancer and wanted to see her 'perform' was extremely deflated by her lack of passion.  Talk about a teachable moment.

Comments: Thank you for putting up this site! well done! I was not happy when britney spears left the stage at GM Place on Wednesday April * for over half an hour. That means that half an hour of our concert was cut out. Its not fair that i paid over 300 dollars for 2 tickets and didnt get to see the full show, whereas the other cities got to see the whole thing. The annoucer said it was due to all of the smoke in the stadium, but I know that the real reason is that Britney threw a fit back stage about ripping her stocking and they had to take half an hour to calm her down. Im very angry

Comments: I was in the 4th row and it was her show that caused the smoke not fans smoking. It was her smoke show.

Comments: One of the worst concerts of my life!!! I mean i could of just sat at gome and listened to her cd the lipsicking was that bad!!! and thr smoke common it was from her and all her fog machines.

Comments: How do we even know it was Britney? There were no screens to see her up-close.

Comments: if I got my money back, it'd help keep me a britney fan.

Comments: This was my third Britney Spears concert and by far the worst. I will never go to another one of her concerts again.

Comments: I was very upset that we were kept in the dark literally as Britney disappeared for 40 minutes.  The show was not the same after this incident. Very  upset that I had to waste my money in this tough economical time

Comments: After paying $566.00 for tickets, $160.00 for T-shirts and $27.00 for drinks, we were thoroughly disappointed when Britney walked off.  After the excitement and build up of the show, for her to walk off as she did was thoroughly upsetting.  We were expecting to be entertained the same as the other cities on her tour. It is her job to entertain - we don't feel she did that.

Comments: I was very excited to go a see britney and the concert was horrible.the Pussy cat dolls were the best thing about it.  I had a baby 2 weeks before the show and would have rather stayed at home with her then go and see britney make an ass of herself.

Comments: Unprofession. Lost momentum after the break. Not a very good role model for the kids.

When you pay to watch a performer, they need to perform. That is their job.

Total waste of time and money.

Huge build up for concert and was a complete let down.

Comments: I have been to Ms.Spears concert in the past, I am being kind by saying her Circus performance was exactly that..a circus. My damages may not be much compared to others, however this is about the principle. I payed to enjoy her concert, and the evening was anything but enjoyable.

REFUNDFROMBRINTEY.COM GROWS BY THE THOUSANDS –

MORE THAN JUST ALLEGED SMOKE STOPS THE BRITNEY SPEARS

VANCOUVER SHOW

April 23, 2009 - Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - After one week on line and so many hits that the site went down for several hours, fans of Britney Spears continue to go online demanding a refund from her Vancouver show.  Total value of refunds from disgruntled buyers reaches nearly $300,000 in face value, not including even more being asked in damages relating to travel and hotel costs associated with attending the show.

“The response is overwhelming and fans believe that this goes beyond the lines of just seeing a performer having an off night.  They feel as though they are true blue, hard core fans of Britney’s and that they have been ripped off, and worst of all – she doesn’t even care.  They are hurt, angry, disgusted and feel as though they have been taken advantage of.  They want their money back”, says a site administrator.

But was the smoky venue truly the issue.  Some say not.  As reported in the Georgia Straight Newspaper on April 9th by reporter Mike Usinger, the smoke complaint by Britney Spears reps was more like smoke and mirrors for more behind the scenes problems.  In Usinger’s interview with Virgin Mobil representative Nicolas de Haas, Haas said he found ‘himself with an interesting vantage point right before the show ground to a halt.  …paying close attention to what was going on from a production standpoint, he told the Straight that one of the hydraulic lifts that were part of the stage setup appeared to be stuck right before Spears disappeared.  “You could see them scrambling to get it back up, but it was stuck down so there was a big hole in the stage.”  “Finally, you saw the stage piece come back up, and then the show started,” he said.’

Whether it was a stage malfunction or Britney’s ripped stockings and temper tantrum or smoke rising to the crew above the stage and then falling below to bother the dancers or the fact that it was just an off night - FANS SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR HER BAD SHOW!  It is evident, in the small snap shot of comments posted on the website, that the show was far from entertaining and successful to many.  It was bizarre, not enjoyable, frustrating and in some cases scary for audience members who felt threatened by a looming riot.

Before Britney loses a large fan base of people who have stood by her for years, she should make a personal public announcement like other performers have done when one of their shows did not work out.  Let's take a seasoned veteran like Neil Diamond for example:

August 2008 -
Following a poor performance at a concert in Columbus, Ohio, singer Neil Diamond felt it necessary to say sorry to his fans. But instead of just issuing an apology (which he did) and promising to perform better his next time through Ohio (which he said he will), Diamond will instead refund tickets of every single person who attended the August 25th concert at the Value City Arena. To break it down numerically, that’s 11,000 tickets that the Solitary Man will refund.

This coming from a performer who doesn't make nearly as much money as Britney Spears et al.

What it all boils down to is that the evening was destined to be an utter disaster and as we now believe, it had nothing to do with the people of Vancouver smoking cigarettes or weed.  What it was was a cover up for some back stage drama that in the end impacted the show's momentum, the fan's enthusiasm and in some cases their safety, and in the end cost individuals hundreds and thousands of dollars - money from their pockets into Britney's.

A request for dialogue has been sent to one of Britney Spears’ lawyers, Mr. Andrew Wallet of Hinojosa & Wallet in Los Angeles, California.  A response has yet to be received.
